Texas Department of Public Safety — Compassionate Use Program (CUP)
Administers the medical Compassionate Use Program, dispensing organization licenses, and the Compassionate Use Registry of Texas (CURT). Patient authorization follows the registered physician’s prescription; Texas does not use a separate patient card application.
Texas Department of State Health Services — Consumable Hemp Program
Handles consumable hemp manufacturing and retail licensing and product requirements. This program is separate from medical cannabis under CUP.
